Our Story

Road signage software built by people who design roads

CapCad was born in the field, solving real problems for engineers delivering projects — and it keeps evolving from that same experience.

How it started

An impossible delivery — that we made happen

In 2013, Brazil's BR-Legal programme set unprecedented standards for road signage design. Working on one of the programme lots — with probably the smallest team of any firm involved — we built CapCad to meet the requirements and delivered the programme's first completed project.

We then took CapCad to market. It went on to be responsible for the delivery of over 20,000 km of federal highway signage projects in the first phase of BR-Legal.

Recognition

Autodesk Authorized Developer

The impact of CapCad caught Autodesk's attention. After presenting our work at their technology centre in San Francisco, we were recognised as an Authorized Developer — reflecting the depth of CapCad's integration with the CAD ecosystem.

Where we are now

From São Paulo to London — and back to you

Following the Autodesk recognition, founder Alan Capuano was hired by Transport for London (TfL) to lead similar work in the UK — where we have been based since 2017, building deep expertise in GIS, CAD and BIM on large-scale infrastructure projects.

With that experience behind us, the time has come to bring CapCad back — faster, more collaborative, and more deeply integrated into the workflow of engineers who deliver real projects.

CapCad: flexible, collaborative — simple to use, detailed in results.

The revolution in design continues.
